Through his faithful preaching, churches were established in Colossae, Laodicea, and Hierapolis.

When the Colossian church faced false teachings, Epaphras traveled all the way to Rome to consult with the imprisoned Paul. He brought a report of the believers' faith and love, which prompted Paul to write the letter to the Colossians. Paul called Epaphras his dear fellow servant and a faithful minister of Christ.

While in Rome, Epaphras was also imprisoned with Paul, yet he never stopped working for his home churches. Paul described him as always wrestling in prayer for the Colossians, pleading that they would stand firm, mature, and fully assured.
